    Job Description and Duties

    This role supports the mission and strategic plan of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) by promoting health and well-being, implementing health equity strategies, and building partnerships to enhance collective impact. The position is part of a team dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of families, children, adolescents, and youth with special health needs.

    The position reports to the Chief of the Child and Adolescent Health Branch and is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team, program operations, and grants and contracts related to Adolescent Health (AH) Section programs. This includes overseeing initiatives such as the Adolescent Sexual Health Education Unit, Adolescent Family Life Program Unit, Information and Education (I&E) Program, CA Personal Responsibility Education Program (CA PREP), and Adolescent Health Initiatives.

    Before being hired for this position, candidates must pass the Health Program Manager II exam.

    Candidates should note that telework eligibility is determined based on the duty statement provided. Teleworking employees must reside in California per Government Code 14200 and may need to report to a CDPH office as required. Candidates living outside California may be considered for interviews, but the selected candidate must establish residency in California before being appointed.
