    Description

    Job Description and Duties

    The California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs program ensures fairness in the development and implementation of laws and regulations affecting communities' natural surroundings. The program focuses on improving communication and relationships with California Native American Tribes and implementing related policies and protocols. The Environmental Program Manager (EPM) I (Supervisory) provides specialized expertise on environmental justice and tribal issues, serving as a critical advisor to the Assistant Secretary.

    • Under general direction of the CalEPA Assistant Secretary for Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs
    • Manages critical elements of the program
    • Supervisory role

    Working Conditions

    CalEPA offers a hybrid work environment, involving office work in a high-rise building and teleworking from home. The role requires extensive reading and writing, computer use, and occasional travel to attend meetings and public hearings.
