    Job Description and Duties

    The California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs program oversees CalEPA's boards, departments, and office (BDOs) activities to ensure fairness in the development and implementation of laws and regulations that affect every community's natural surroundings, focusing on inclusivity for all. The program also enhances communication and relationships with California Native American Tribes, following CalEPA's Tribal Policy and related protocols. The Tribal Policy guides CalEPA to collaborate respectfully with Tribal communities. Under general direction of the CalEPA Assistant Secretary for Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs, the Environmental Program Manager (EPM) I (Supervisory) provides specialized environmental justice expertise and manages critical elements of the environmental justice and tribal affairs program. The EPM I (Supervisory) serves as a key advisor and expert on environmental justice and tribal issues for CalEPA. Please share how you discovered this opportunity by participating in a brief survey:

    Working Conditions

    CalEPA offers a hybrid work environment, involving office work in a high-rise building and telework from home. The role requires extended periods of computer work, occasional day trips, and overnight travel for project meetings and other collaborative tasks.
