    Job Summary

    In this position you will have the exciting responsibility of refining disruptive operation implementations, supporting the preparation for production operation and replication, but also working in a cross-functional team that is developing and implementing something new in Anchor Plants.


    MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
    :

    Develop and implement continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma processes in day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plants.
    Provide planning and recommend resources to improve the manufacturing process through statistical based analysis.
    Interpret statistical process control data, collection and analysis.
    Perform designed experiments to determine actions needed for improved process capabilities.
    Review and suggest revisions or initiate Standard Operating Procedures.
    Assist in the planning, management and supervision for equipment installation and rebuild projects.
    Review and provide feedback on technical specifications for equipment and systems compliant with technical, safety and best engineering practices.
    Lead engineering work related to new electro-mechanical equipment installations (including but not limited to batch house systems, compressed air systems, cooling system, water, vacuum, combustion skids, fire protection, robots, servo mechanism, forming machines, hot end monitoring systems, etc.)
    Support project meetings, reporting on project status and issues and maintaining communication with contractors to effectively execute project tasks.

    Provide planning and recommend resources to improve the manufacturing process through statistical based analysis, with hands on leadership and ownership as assigned.

    Review and provide feedback on technical specifications for equipment and systems compliant with technical, safety and best engineering practices.

    Established / organizes and facilitates activities of cross-functional teams; coaches, conducts performance appraisals, empowers, and involves group members and may solve conflicts that occur within or between teams.

    Leads / supports leadership of problem-solving activities for the department and other departments. Ensures the correct root cause is found and directs implementation of countermeasures.
    Supports the development and administration of the department budget and G&Os.
    Prepares reports and attends meetings regarding standardization and new initiatives. Interacts with customers on a regular basis including tours, reports, and training.
    Assists Manager in developing plans for future manpower requirements (6 months to 3 years ahead).
    Coordinates and assists in the development of department G&Os and assists cross-functional areas in G&O development.
    Benchmarks with other plants to get an understanding of best practices in the company.
    Develops methods to prioritize projects and trains subordinates in those methods.
    Assists with decisions made at higher levels.
    Oversees cross-functional projects and ensures timely completion.
    Establishes methods used to prioritize projects.
    Provides training as needed for staff and related departments and their staff.

    Supports the engineering staff and related associates with their developmental plans and assigns challenging tasks in order to develop their skills.

    Conducts current condition analyses and makes recommendations to upper management in support of company goals and improvement activities.
    Indirectly influences suppliers by activities with the purchasing and/or localization department.
    Monitors associate development, designs a plan of action if needed to get associates back on track.

    EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS
    :

    Engineering degree Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical or equivalent engineering field.
    Understand and can apply Kaizen techniques, familiar with the different types of Muda and actions necessary to eliminate them.
    Ability to develop project schedules and allocate resources.
    5+ yrs. professional level work experience / industry related jobs.
    Creative mindset, ability to think "big" and deliver innovative solutions.
    Experience with Natural Gas, Compressed Air, Ventilation, Material Storage, Robots, Servo mechanisms and Delivery systems.
    Travel Requirements:

    Up to 50% of time - domestic and international travel
