The Division of Credit Assurance manages the Departments' Single-Family Portfolio of mortgages with the goal to achieve a high level of customer service and foster homeownership while prudently managing assets.

The Department has an immediate opening for a Program Manager II, Assistant Manager Collection and Loss Mitigation for the Department's $558 million a single-family portfolio of loans. The Assistant Manager Collections and Loss Mitigation oversees a staff of 10 employees and 2 mortgage servicing company contracts. This position evaluates risk on loan defaults and directs all aspects of the mortgage servicing life cycle from customer service, general loan servicing, loss mitigation, legal action, tax sales, foreclosure sales, collection and recovery of funds, loan payoffs, and mortgage servicing transfers. The candidate assists the Manager Collections and Loss Mitigation with general department operations to include monthly reporting and statistics, contractor compliance, personnel actions, long and short-term goals, budgets, and delegation of tasks to maintain smooth operations. The Assistant Manager assists with establishing + maintaining mortgage servicing policies and procedures that reflect changes in state laws, federal laws, and insurer guidelines. This position is responsible for educating the public on DHCD policies and procedures while maintaining good relations with HUD housing counselors, title companies, contract servicers, contract law firms, local and state agencies, and other departments within DHCD.
