- Targeting instruction and differentiating instruction to meet specific learners needs to improve sensory and perceptual motor skills, language, cognition, and memory using smaller groups of students.

- Developing, modifying, and implementing curriculum and assessments for students with disabilities as determined in a student's IEP and/or 504 plan.
- The Special Education Coordinator must analyze a wide range of academic data, including class assessments, specialized evaluations, and teacher reports to build and present compelling cases for scholars to receive Special Education services.
- Support the Director of Special Education with managing the Special Education referral process from start to finish while ensuring families and relevant stakeholders are kept informed of all evaluations.
- Maintain organized Special Education records for all students by utilizing WHIN's internal data management system.
- In partnership with the Director of Special Education, collect and edit reports that are part of a student's special education record.
- Collaborate with the Director of Special Education to ensure all students with Special Education services are in compliance with their mandated services and accommodations.
- You will make sure that WHIN complies with all relevant laws and policies pertaining to student IEPs and 504 plans.
- Collaborate with the school leadership and teaching staff to create strong systems that track student progress and move swiftly to update as necessary to support scholar growth.
- In partnership with the Director of Special Education, schedule and coordinate all aspects of a student IEP process.
- Participate in Committee of Special Education (CSE) meetings and ping the CSE to finalize reports.
- Send a summary email of each meeting to the CSE and update the necessary information in WHIN's internal special education tracker.
- Maintain positive working relationships with the CSE.
- NYS or equivalent Special Education Teaching Certification and having Dual Elementary Education Teaching Certification and Special Education Teacher Certification is preferred.
- Urban elementary teaching experience.
