QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• Provisional or Permanent NYS Education certificate in Special Education/Literacy
• Ability to work collaboratively and an interest in an interdisciplinary approach to education
• Teachers must be fingerprinted with verification on file with NYC Department of Education

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Special Education Teacher will consult with and provide support to teachers in addressing the needs of their students with IEPs in the general education classrooms, as well as provide resource room instruction for children whose IEP requires instructional time outside the general education classroom


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Providing resource room instruction to students whose IEPs require instructional time outside the general education classroom
• Providing consultation and support for parents of special needs students in general education classroom and help to facilitate positive collaboration between parents and teachers
• Attending IEPs and staff/parent meetings of students with special needs in general education classrooms, as requested

We have full-time and part-time positions, as well as, after school positions available.

Flexible hours; Monday - Friday.


RETIREES ARE WELCOMED

RATE:
$60-$65 per hour - Commensurate with experience
