    Description

    The Commercial Sales Representative will work closely with builders, contractors, and architects to promote and sell the Pella Product line. Commercial representatives will primarily focus on commercial projects, additions, remodeling, and replacement projects through remodeling contractors. In this position, follow-up is key and the ability to overcome objections to secure an order is necessary.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop long-term relationships with Builders and Contractors
    • Responsible for prospecting for and gaining new customers to grow the account base.
    • Will present various products and services to customers as well as present quotes and detailed descriptions of the project. Performing Continuing Education programs for architectural and builders groups will also be required.
    • Responsible for window takeoffs, generating quotes, delivering quotes to prospective customers, and closing projects.
    • Attain sales goals as well as achieving a strong closing ratio.
    • Initiate service and play a role in maintaining the company's desired service level.
    • Regular meetings will be held with a sales representative and sales manager to review: Bookings Versus Goal, Quoting Activity, Discounts, Entry Door Sales, Returns & Allowances, Prospects Converted, Lost Jobs, and Future Business.
    • Must attend all sales meetings, company meetings, and other mandatory scheduled events.
    • Attendance at monthly builders meetings is necessary where applicable.
    • Participate in home shows as deemed necessary
    Work Hours:
    • Commercial sales representatives can expect to begin their day at 7 am and finish between 5 pm and 7 pm.
    • Night and weekend hours are often required for take-offs, service requests, general administrative duties, and planning.
    • Occasional Showroom coverage may be required as deemed necessary by the manager.
    • Commercial Salespeople may be assigned other tasks and duties as deemed necessary by management.
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    • Architectural background helpful
    • Minimum of 2 years in a sales environment
    • Strong basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong customer relation skills
