    Summary

    This position is for a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations) located in the Employee-Management Relations Division, Employee Relations branch of NNSA HR. The incumbent will serve as an advisor and operational consultant on a variety of federal programs such as, but not limited to, employee relations, performance management, reasonable accommodations, and drug testing.

    Duties

    As a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations), you will:

  • Provide functional and procedural guidance on Human Resources matters related to performance management, employee relations, and/or reasonable accommodations, etc.
  • Resolve problems of more than average difficulty on a full range of matters pertinent to assigned functions.
  • Research and analyze processes to ensure optimum support for assigned and attached personnel.
  • Administer programs in accordance with process, practices, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Analyze employee relations, performance management issues, and or reasonable accommodations by providing insight into EEOC and MSPB case law.
  • Provide managers with options that align with the intent of the program while protecting employee rights.
  • Initiate and maintain regular and recurring contacts with a variety of civilian supervisors and senior management officials in NNSA headquarters and administrative staffs, or comparable personnel in other federal agencies.
  • Interact and communicate with managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors sufficient to implement and coordinate programs and to defend, explain and promote assigned program initiatives.
  • Develop and respond in writing to a variety of correspondence to include inquiries internal and external to NNSA.
  • Formulate written guidance such as email notification to workforce on employee issues that are discoverable in complaints or appeals.
  • Prepare formal documents for legal review of accuracy and sufficiency.
