- Partner with the HR Manager to support supervisors, managers, and other leaders of the organization to achieve business objectives through the HR function.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition to recruit for salaried roles; including creating job descriptions, sourcing, interviewing, and working with hiring managers to ensure the most qualified candidate is selected.
- Provides one-on-one coaching and career development counsel to managers and employees.
- Advises managers with regard to disciplinary action, company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Maintains knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, and state and federal labor laws applicable to assigned areas of responsibility.
- Presents HR-related topics in monthly plant meetings to the operations team.
- Responds to, investigate, and resolve employee complaints and employee relations issues, such as equal opportunity and harassment claims, and resolve conflict resolution strategies.
- Administers leave of absence programs including but not limited to; FMLA and short-term disability.
- Assists the Human Resources department on other assignments and/or special projects as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree or HR certification preferred.
- 4+ years' experience in a Human Resources generalist role.
- Previous experience with recruiting professional/exempt level roles.
- Previous experience in supporting a large hourly workforce.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Able to influence, build trust, and manage conflict.
- Ability to take initiative; strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships, attract candidates, and make selection decisions.
- Ability to use MS Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiently.
- Knowledge of behavioral-based interviewing techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills, facilitation skills, and solid knowledge of HR-related laws and regulations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working and running reports in an HRIS system.
- Capability of working with an applicant tracking system.
