- Hunter: Identify and make outbound contact with existing and potential customers to find sales opportunities via email, phone, and V-meetings.
- Sales process: Manage and qualify sales leads; understand the customer's scientific and business pain points, and the competitive situation.
- Technical: Create quotations that match customer needs to SeqMatic services offering.
- Tenacity: Assertively pursue, negotiate and close sales orders
- Manage customer relationships post-sale, including a strategy to develop long-term business relationships.
- Responsive: Answer technical inquiries and/or provide updates to the clients regarding the status of their submissions.
- Attention to detail: Log all activities in HubSpot CRM.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Strong Genomics and/or Molecular Biology background to allow for a deep understanding of the broad variation of NGS/omics applications.
- Innate desire to win.
- 1+ years of experience in a Life Science sequencing laboratory, NGS Sales role, Technical Support role, or related field with customer-facing experience.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Conduct technical presentations effectively and professionally to customers, peers, and management.
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing methods. Illumina and/or 10X Genomics (or equal) strongly preferred.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and advance beyond this role into areas such as field sales, tech support, project management, etc.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage time effectively. Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Prior experience in an environment using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in genomics, molecular biology, or a closely related scientific field.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

We specialize in Illumina NGS platforms, bulk DNA/RNA-seq, Single-cell RNA, as well as custom sequencing services with fast turnaround times. Our lab is CLIA / CAP certified. We recently expanded our capabilities beyond RUO to support clinical trial sequencing, in addition to incorporating novel technologies such as Spatial Transcriptomics, Epigenetics, Proteomics and Histopathology.
About the Opportunity:
SeqMatic is looking for an Inside Technical Sales Specialist to join our commercial team. This is a full-time role based in our Fremont, CA office (M-F). Key elements of the position include daily outbound prospecting, nurturing, and closing the sale; understanding customers' technical and business requirements; preparing detailed quotes; matching quotes to purchase orders for billing; and communicating the status of projects from receipt to completion.
This role offers a base salary plus commission, a comprehensive benefits package, 401K with match, and a 5-day lunch program.
