Position Title :
Fund Accountant Director of RSM Fund Services Plus
Position Description:
This position will be involved in RSM's fund administration service offering (including fund accounting, financial reporting and fund operations)
Specific Responsibilities:
Serve as the day-to-day engagement Director for fund administration engagements with a strong focus on private equity clientsManage all aspects of the engagements including, capital calls, distributions, wires/cash management, quarterly reporting, and year end reportingManage, train and develop the Fund Services Plus team to assist with fund accounting, operational, and reporting deliverablesLiaise with leadership from our offshore affiliates and help coordinate the activities of the offshore team relating to Fund Services Plus fund administration engagementsEducate the US team on the various critical aspects in servicing fund administration clientsHeavy interaction with the clients to ensure all deliverables are metBecome an expert user in the firm's fund administration technology platformsPlay an important role in quality control and ensure the implementation/adherence to policies and procedures for fund administrationManage/assist in the review and preparation of the work paper supporting schedules for financial statement accountsCoordinate fund level operating activities subsequent closes, fee calculations, including credit facility maintenance, deal funding, and investor fundingCoordinate with both internal and external auditors with all aspects of the annual auditManage/assist in the maintenance and review of the waterfall data and the development of carried interest calculations/modelsWork with Legal and Compliance team to ensure compliance with various fund policies and proceduresResponsible for the prompt response to investors' requestsPlay a significant role in the onboarding process, including the design for client onboarding 'center of excellence' for onboarding new Advisors/FundsAssist with the testing and implementation of initiatives to improve and streamline fund accounting functions
Qualifications:
RSM seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
10+ years of Big 4 or national accounting firms fund accounting experience in the private equity industry is preferredWell versed in interpreting /applying the financial and operational terms of Limited Partnership Agreements for private equity fundsUndergraduate degree in AccountingGraduate degree, CPA and/or CAProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Allvue knowledge a large PLUSProficient knowledge of fund accounting software (Investran, E-Front, etc.)
