About Sweta Chowdhury:

I want to create meaningful brand stories and relationships

I've always introduced myself as a strategist and a trend hunter, exploring innovative storytelling and bringing delight to presentations. And I am those things, I’m also much more. I’m more than a limited character count and a filtered photo to be found in the void of social media. Wes Anderson and pop art sparked my passion for the world of creative entrepreneurship and branding. I love seeing the big picture but I am also devilish about the details. I dream that the stories I get the privilege to bring to life never burn out. I believe we can change ourselves and the world through representation. 

And, I’m still more than these things.  And I will be more things yet to come. 

Experience

My most recent experience was being the VP of Strategy for Boston University AdLab (AdLab is the country’s largest student-run advertising agency, operating out of the College of Communication at Boston University). In my role, I was responsible for heading and leading the entire strategy department at Boston University Adlab. Oversee strategy across 10 client accounts while leading 3 directors, assisting and ensuring that quality strategic deliverables are produced at AdLab.

Clients: Boston ABCD, Formlabs, CommCreative (Flooring America), SkinRX, Spaulding, PartRunner, BU COM DEI, MIKI House, B-local, Boston Globe x Emancipator

Education

I have an MS Degree in Advertising from Boston University (2020-2021) and I have a Bachelors Degree (Triple Major) in Communications Studies, Psychology, and English (2017-2020). 

Sitting through various advertisement classes, I realized that I dream to build a career as a brand strategist where you learn about new things, solve complex marketing mysteries, and communicate your insights to others. I love this to be my career because you never stop learning and you get to meet lots of interesting people and learn from their perspectives. I enjoy constantly evaluating broad cultural trends, new directions within industry verticals, and shifts in consumer demand, and then applying that learning to counsel and predict what’s best for the client’s businesses. I thrive on taking a huge, multidimensional problem and solving it. It’s like handling a life-sized Rubik’s Cube.
