    Description

    Christ Episcopal School, a diverse community serving students from Preschool through grade 8, is seeking a creative and dynamic educational technology specialist for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate would be interested in joining a collaborative school community and providing a positive and encouraging educational technology experience for our students and teachers. The Educational Technology Specialist empowers students in grades pre-k - 8th grade to be curious, creative, and critical thinkers, respectful digital citizens and informed consumers of technology.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage, develop, and deliver creative technology instruction.
    • Incorporate social skills, digital citizenry, and instruction on essential educational technology tools in lessons.
    • Teach three sections of study skills/digital literacy to 5th and 6th graders.
    • Teach robotics (Robo Wunderkind) for lower school. (training provided)
    • Provide educational technology resources that will meet the informational, research, educational, and recreational needs of students and faculty.
    • Assist teachers in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for all students.
    • Provide training to teachers for various technological resources.
    • Monitor student progress and technology use, and assist students in mastering the stated educational technology standards (ISTE).
    • Assess current curriculum software/subscriptions and research new options
    • Manage classroom tech integration and monitoring (GoGuardian, Google Workspace)
    • Assist in the promotion of technology services through tours, outreach, demonstrations and displays.
    • Assist with written policy updates/changes related to technology use.
    • Lead occasional virtual parent information webinars on technological topics.
    • Work closely with Technology Coordinator to support and maintain current campus technology goals.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by position and as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications:
      • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is a minimum requirement, although a graduate degree in instructional technology or curriculum is highly desirable.
      • Experience managing instructional technology or curricular innovation in an educational organization.
      • Possess a comprehensive understanding of best practices for lower school/middle school childhood technology education.
      • Demonstrate a passion for driving student learning and success.
      • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
      • Proficient in Chromebook operating systems, Google Workspace, GoGuardian.
      • Ability to adapt teaching style for learners with diverse learning styles.
      • Experience with training colleagues
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
      • Experience with, or willingness to learn, new applications and programs as appropriate to the technology curriculum goals.
      • Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed. The Education Technology Specialist position is an exempt, 10-month, salaried position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. EOE.
