- Perform literature searches and reviews in the field of public health and social sciences in order to design a research study. 1
- Work with staff to plan and implement social, behavioral, and public health research projects, including randomized intervention trials. 2
- Coordinate submission of protocols and renewals to Intramural Research Branch (IRB). 3
- Work with staff on the development of survey instruments.
- Work with staff in the development of behavioral intervention materials and health communications.
- Coordinate meetings and communications among local and off-site investigators.
- Coordinate the recruitment of study subjects for trials.
- Monitor data collection for public health and social science research. 4
- Perform preliminary analyses of data to address public health and social science research questions.
- Write reports and research papers.
- Prepare scientific slides, graphics and PowerPoint presentations.
- Work with staff to ensure that project timelines are met. 5
- Assist staff to ensure that projects stay within budget.
- Facilitate with committees and workshops.

- Master's degree in biology, life sciences, public health, actuarial science, community and public health, or a related discipline.
- Skilled in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and R.
- Experienced in project management, writing, reports, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) amendments and continuing reviews.
- Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Position Objective: Provide services as a Scientific Program Analyst in support of the overall functions of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
