Description
Objective
Browning Contractors Inc. is a leading underground construction company for the Central Valley. An HR Generalist is a versatile professional who manages various aspects of human resources, providing support across multiple functions. This role involves responsibilities in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and overall HR operations.
Essential functions
Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
Address employee concerns and inquiries, fostering positive employee relations.
Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
Communicate benefits information to employees and assist in enrollment processes.
Conduct employee evaluations
Communication policy changes to employees, ensure understanding and compliance.
Provide guidance on compliance matters, including labor standards and equal employment opportunity.
Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements.
Assist in the weekly process of payroll, including time punch verifications and mileage.
Complete injury reports and submit the workers compensation report.
Benefits:

401(K), eligible after 6 months.
Experience/Qualifications
Bachelors degree in human resources or related area of study (preferred).
2-5 years experience in a Human Resources Generalist Role
PHR, PHRca, SHRM-CP is a plus.
Construction office experience is a plus.
Spanish speaking preferred.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk to and hear customers. The employee must occasionally lift to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to see up close and at a distance, as well as use peripheral vision and depth perception, and be able to look at, read, and use a computer, electronic devices, and phones for long periods of time.
