    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position Title: Accountant

    Employment Classification: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

    Reports to: Controller

    Department: Accounting

    Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with the accounts payable processing, credit card charges, recording gift card donations, uploading files for Positive Pay. Assist the Senior Accountant with all aspects of the ILP billing and contract. Creating and reconciling excel spreadsheets and Assisting the Controller and Accounting Staff with other financial tasks as necessary.

    Requirements

    Major Areas of Responsibility:

    • Process and approve Invoices through Blackbaud Expense Management.
    • Process and approve charges through Ramp Credit card system.
    • Assist the Senior Accountant with all aspects of the ILP billing and contract including monthly invoicing, budget modifications, reconciliations, and audit.
    • Assist with financial compliance.
    • Upload files for Positive Pay for Wells Fargo and Farmers & Merchants.
    • Remote deposit donations daily and go to the bank when necessary.
    • Assist with the Gift Card data base and serve as back up for all tasks when needed.
    • Prepare the Tango gift card upload.
    • Count gift cards and petty cash at month end.
    • Monthly allocations of benefits, and workers compensation insurance.
    • Support the Development Department with collection of funds at events.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, preferred, High Schools diploma required.
    • 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the nonprofit industry
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Knowledge of Blackbaud software, including Financial Edge and Raisers Edge a plus
    • Strong written and oral communications skills
    • Detail oriented and highly organized.
    • Possess strong organizational and time management experience.
    • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications
    • Possess a valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.
    • Pre-employment screenings include criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, drug screen, and previous employment verification.
    Essential Qualities:
    • Understanding of and passion for the Foundation's mission, vision, and values.
    • Understanding of the structured timeframe of accounting tasks including payroll, monthly closing and accrual accounting.
    • Works well as part of the team and is willing and able to assist in functions that may come up from time to time outside their job duties.
    • Can work with confidential financial information.
    • Demonstrates the ability of effective communication especially regarding financial information.
    Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
    • Position may require use of personal vehicle.
    • Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs. (i.e. tables, chairs, food, water, etc.).
    • Modification to work schedule may be made based on needs of the Foundation.
