A Trilogy of Light

                                                   

 The sun comes up every day .. but how many people see the Light? – fem-v

 "Within me I carry a flame"     

Not all flames are the same

Light wants to heal us & make us

Darkness wants to blind us & break us    

Some in cover of darkness remain        

Though dying embers .. ignite to blame

Other people for their doubt and shame

Not understanding FEAR will freeze & maim

Some flames are too strong to be tamed 

.. with hope they call upon His name

Into willing, open hearts Christ came

.. their brightness of faith does acclaim 

“In His Light .. we have light” 

This Light .. gives our spirit flight

Helps us discern wrong from right

Strengthens us in the darkest night

“In search of Light”

In our life journey .. we are marked 

.. no one escapes dark moments

.. yet hope is a beacon of Light

Light reveals the way   

.. to help us see 

.. to guide our path

.. to makes us strong

.. to overcome obstacles

.. to teaches us endurance 

The fractal behaviors of human-onions: 

.. we are perplexed by paradoxes 

.. we are mystified by metaphors

.. our illusions lead to delusions

.. the irony of what we strive for 

.. the paradox of where we focus

.. the metaphor of where we arrive

We wish upon stars .. but miss the Light

We want knowledge .. but we reject wisdom 

We hope to collect .. without first cultivating

We want to be recognized .. without deserving

We long for power .. but lack the ability to lead

"In Pursuit of Light " 

Like Earth, I was chasing, running after the Sun daily, 

From East to West .. And West to East 

.. In pursuit of light .. 

Not realizing that it was not the Sun, 

But the Earth, who is running around herself ..

And ending up in the daily cycle of nights chasing days 

And darkness pursuing light

Now, I have realized that if I didn't move .. 

If I stop chasing & running around myself,

I become still, static and silent 

And I am unhurt .. 

And in that inert state, 

I could see, 

The "light" is always there

.. where I am ..

.. on my side ..

Always standing before me to enlighten me.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light .. and find out what pleases the Lord. 

.. the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth ..

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 

Everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 

This is why it is said:   

“Wake up O sleeper

And rise from the dead

And Christ will shine on you” – Ephesians 5

Once you were in darkness

Now you are light in the Lord

So as true children of light you must live

Showing the glory of God

This is the beautiful fruit of the Light

The good, the righteous, the true

Let us discover what pleases the Lord

In everything that we do

As days get darker take care how you live

Not as unwise but as wise

Making the most

Of each moment He gives

And pressing on for the prize. – GK

Fay are you aware of a song Love shine a light by Katrina and the Waves which won the Eurovision Song Contest in the 1990s.

It's lyrics urge us to allow love to shine a light not only in corners of our hearts, but in that of others, in fact the whole world.

The “trilogy” was three poems about Light

Although considering that God is Light” and He is Triune in nature - This would be more truly the “Trilogy of Light”

At the time I tucked Roberto's comment away .. inspired to write a poem (frequently it is the words of others that inspire me)

It is true what you say:

The world is “self serving” .. and many SM platforms, including this one these days unfortunately, so many write without commenting on the works of others, and some without returning or acknowledging the comments made by others on their own posts. 

I agree it does “equates to taking without giving.” .. poor citizenship .. poor friendship  

SM can be a like a black hole .. endlessly .. mindlessly .. TAKING  (which is greed & reflects the spirit of the world) 

I know the conversation has been had before but by my observation 

.. it is rare that people actually reads & thoughtfully comment 

It would seem mostly the interest is in numbers & likes - reactions 

.. this is MATH .. not conversation or genuine engagement 

Also it seems the choir is always welcome but there is low tolerance for different thinking or faith 

 

People always reveal themselves .. through their words & actions 

Everything in life is a sowing & reaping

To "Be the Light" might be to offer insight and direction

.. or just to sit with somebody and be the presence they need. 

.. to "Be the Light" signifies carrying on the light for what should be finished or be made new.

 

Believers are called to be “children of light” 

.. we are told that “Light consists of goodness, righteousness & Truth”

.. shining His Light into dark places (even when it is not welcome or received) 

.. shining light on Truth from His Word (even when it is not welcome or received) 

“In His Light .. we have light” - wisdom is imparted .. for the light-bearer to be rightly equipped 

 

We are warned ..

“The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness .. does not understand it.” 

(has not overcome it .. is not receptive to it)                                                                      

                                                                      

The oldest & longest war is spiritual: Light Vs Darkness 

“The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4

 

Light is attractive .. it draws

God does not force Himself on anyone .. nor should any believer “drive His Word upon others”                                                                        

God draws people .. but not if their heart is turned away 

Only God, by His Spirit .. can change hearts & transform lives .. but this requires willingness, cooperation & desire.

 

I agree that sharing from God’s Word should be as you say “nimbly and with empathy” 

Light is intelligent & intuitive .. life-giving & loving

What's the significance here to convey the light? Such a brilliant portrayal of immaculateness and confidence is described. Awesome, dear Fay ❤️

To "Be the Light" might be to offer insight and direction, or just to sit with somebody, and be the presence they need. ... of the time to "Be the Light" signifies carrying on the light for what should be finished or be made new.

Being a light to others likewise implies reacting with generosity and comprehension if you go over a not keen on hearing individual your uplifting statements. God didn't help us to drive His Word upon others yet to show it nimbly and with empathy

I must admit, Fay, I’m not too sure which words are yours and which belong to others, but the phrase that struck a cord with me was, “We hope to collect .. without first cultivating.”

In today’s self serving world and in many SM platforms, including this one these days unfortunately, so many write without coomenting on the works of others, and some without returning or acknowledging the comments made by others on their own posts. 

In my mind this equates to taking without giving. I note that you, like me, and only a few others who remain from the old beBee school, both cultivate and reap. What say you?
