    The opportunity

    At ZBiotics, we make genetically engineered probiotics that improve daily life. As a group of motivated, yet down-to-earth people, we are fueled by two things: a love for science and a commitment to being people-first. GMO products like ours, designed to benefit individuals rather than corporations, are the future. As the first to market, we believe it's our duty to set a high bar for product quality, safety, and transparency for others to follow.

    In 2019, we launched the world's first genetically engineered probiotic: a 15mL probiotic drink designed to break down an alcohol byproduct that leads to rough mornings after drinking. Since then, ZBiotics' business has continued to grow rapidly year over year.

    We are preparing to launch our second product, a genetically engineered probiotic with a new function related to microbiome health.

    The impact you'll have

    As we grow into a branded house, having a cohesive brand voice and content narrative is going to be more important than ever. ZBiotics' content strategy will be critical to the growth of the overall company. As our Content Marketing Manager, the narratives you craft and the content you produce across our blog, social media, and email channels will become the heartbeat of our organic growth and brand expansion.

    Not only will your work elevate the ZBiotics brand, but your work will be instrumental to our mission of carving out a new category: GMO Probiotics. Your storytelling will redefine how U.S. consumers see and understand genetic engineering and GMOs.

    About the role

    As the Content Marketing Manager, you will be the architect of our brand's voice, designing and delivering content that not only captivates but also connects with our audience on a meaningful level. Your responsibilities will include leading and executing on the content planning, copywriting, and strategically posting on our social media platforms.

    Responsibilities include:

    Content creation and management:
    • Own and operate our blog and all of ZBiotics' social media channels
    • Generate and share monthly content reports that track our goals and progress
    • Be seen as ZBiotics' Copywriter in Chief with colleagues looking to you for the source material that brings the content plan to life and for your expert help on a variety of copy needs across marketing, from ads to email to on-pack messaging
    Content strategy and execution:
    • Define ZBiotics' content strategy as a branded house and oversee all content initiatives
    • Define and share out the content strategy across the Marketing organization, ensuring successful deployment each quarter by partnering with folks within the Marketing team
    • Have built out and executed a multi-channel and multi-product content strategy that utilizes various mediums, including visual content, video, and written narratives to tell compelling stories that showcase our products, values, and purpose
    • Build out a content strategy for our third product
    Brand narrative development:
    • Introduce new content channels to the mix through experimentation, alongside the Growth team and our Marketing Manager
    • Create a community engagement plan and build out a customer community both digitally and IRL
    • Produced ZBiotics' first State of the Industry report for press and public consumption.
    • Ensure one cohesive narrative drumbeat across all Marketing platforms, to strengthen brand recognition and loyalty

    • Our blog articles and emails are leading examples of best in-class content marketing in the DTC brands in adjacent categories.
    • Brand affinity, loyalty, and engagement are growing alongside our awareness and sales.

    About you

    Must-haves:
    • You are a masterful communicator, storyteller, and copywriter, with the ability to adapt the brand voice for different mediums and audiences. This applies to both short-form and long-form content.
    • Experience in copywriting and social media management across various platforms.
    • You understand the ins-and-outs of SEO.
    • You love staying on top of the latest social trends, and obsess over how brands and people can build relationships based on these trends.
    • Ability to analyze data and trends to inform content strategy and measure its effectiveness.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with team members across departments and with external partners.
    Nice-to-haves:
    • Graphic design experience.
    • Experience writing and managing a blog for a business (especially helpful if you can point to blogs you've written that contributed to SEO related growth).
    • You have brand marketing experience in CPG (consumer packaged goods).
    • You value and seek out quantitative and qualitative data to inform brand direction.
    • Marketing scientific or technical products to consumers is something you've done before.
    • Experience managing a business's entire social media footprint.
    • Experience in video content strategy and production, particularly for platforms like YouTube. Experience managing the whole video process, or ability to write a good script and brief.
