- Help foster and build relationships with customers by gaining an understanding of their expectations and specific preferences.
- Generate rates through our quoting tool and submit rates to customers. Accept tendered freight and build / schedule loads accordingly.
- Enter shipment data into our TMS system accurately and completely.
- Proactively identify potential service failures and work with Operations to remedy issues.
- Communicate with customers regarding status updates as required by customers and provide solutions to problems that arise.
- Plan ahead by working with the Operations group continuously throughout the day, so they are able to book as much freight as possible in advance.
- Understand and actively work with customer-issued scorecards to improve customer service and meet customer expectations.
- Update customer websites with shipment information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others, promoting a team environment and supporting your coworkers.
- Excellent active listening skills to gain a clear understanding of Customer needs in order to drive solutions.
- Possess the ability to accept constructive criticism from both external and internal sources. Learn from mistakes and improve your professional skills.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel is desirable.
