    The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Research Assistant VII. The Division of Behavioral Health Services and Policy Research is seeking a Research Assistant VII who can provide research assistance to our OMH Policy Scholars research program and other investigators in the Division.

    OMH Policy Scholars are new investigators who are awarded a year-long grant to complete a project relevant to an issue of priority to the New York Office of Mental Health. They often require research assistance to complete their projects. Likewise, investigators in the Division have small and large projects that require research assistance.

    Applicants will be required to complete all human subjects training requirements before engaging in a human subjects' research.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities, tasks, and activities include:

    • Assisting with IRB correspondence
    • Assisting with recruitment and consent procedures with study participants
    • Interviewing participants
    • Facilitating focus groups and workshops
    • Transcription of interviews
    • Data collection, coding, checking, extraction, cleaning, analysis, and summarization
    • Manuscript revisions and literature reviews
    • Processing orders and payments
    • Other duties as required.
    • Candidate should be familiar with Good Clinical Practice guidelines and statistical software.
    • Candidate can work remotely but must be able to be on site at NYSPI and other sites in NY as needed.
    • Some nights and weekends may be needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent in experience and education.
    • At least 6 months experience in a research environment or working on research project.
    • Personal lived and living experience of mental health and/or substance recovery can substitute for education and/or work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous human subjects training.
    • Previous usage of qualitative software a plus.

    Work Location: 1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY

    Remote Work Policy: The selected candidate must be local (NY metro area). This position will allow to work remotely but will transition to on-site as needed.
