- Become familiar with the hotel's annual budget and sales expenses.
- Develop an understanding of the hotel's occupancy throughout the year. Be knowledgeable about rates during the different seasons, as well as REVPAR goals and performance metrics. Be an active participant in the forecasting of sales and catering. Work with Revenue Management to ensure optimal revenue achievement.
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that will assist in the attainment of annual sales and revenue goals with new and existing accounts. Increase business with current accounts.
- This position is an active selling sales position with monthly individual booking goals set by the Regional VP of Sales and Marketing as well as the hotel General Manager, based on the annual revenues for the hotel.
- Proactively schedule property tours with potential new business.
- Liaise and develop relationships with local business and association contacts, community leaders and hotel partner.
- Manage and evaluate various aspects of marketing and their ROI, such as (on-line and print collateral, on-line and print advertising campaigns, promotions and hotel packaging, promotional materials, incentives and rewards programs).
- Develop positive relationships within the local community and work diligently to develop new business for the hotel.
- Become the expert on your local and like-branded competitors, and develop plans to engage new clients and upsell existing clients.
- Consistently provide the highest levels of customer service to internal partners and external clients. Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to all internal partners and external customers.
- Learn and use digital sales systems and conceptual sales processes (i.e. Delphi, CI/TY, PMS, sales call process, etc.) and understand the hotel's sales strategies (i.e. Marketing Plan, rates, budgeted goals, etc.). Utilize these tools and resources in order to accomplish individual and team goals and efficiently complete job duties.
- Prior Director of Sales Experience (5+ years).
- Strong track record of developing effective relationships with community leaders.
- Effective leadership skills, able to motivate and manage successful sales teams.
- Ability to develop strategic plans, based on analysis of financial and competitive data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.

We are hiring a Director of Sales & Marketing for our Beaufort Hotel.
We have an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned sales executive at our stunning Beaufort Hotel, located in Beaufort, North Carolina.
Nestled in the Inner Banks of North Carolina, also known as the Crystal Coast, this 133 room property is very unique and has so much to offer.
The Beaufort Hotel has easy access to Shackleford Island (a very cool island inhabited with wild horses), Cape Lookout National Seashore and the Rachel Carson Reserve.
Beaufort is known for its old world southern charm, the local seafood and world class fishing. Our Hotel offers ambiance and charm, and fits in beautifully to surrounding community.Our Director of Sales & Marketing is a member of the hotels executive team.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will provide direction and leadership to the sales and catering departments, and is accountable for sales, marketing, catering, and sales-related revenue generation.
This position serves as liaison between the sales team, revenue management, and other departments of the hotel and our corporate office.
