    Description:

    Underwriting specialist will be responsible for handling support calls and emails from clients, agents and customers regarding their flood insurance policies and new applications. Additional duties will include:


    • Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per NFIP guidelines.


    • Process endorsements, cancellations and reinstatements, and handle billing issues and completes policy issuance.


    • Review all underwriting information to include applications, photographs, elevation certificates and third party internet resources to correctly underwrite the policy.


    • Respond to Agent inquiries by phone support, online chat and emails and meet required production KPIs as defined by leadership.


    • Review correspondence from agency including requests for endorsements for acceptability


    • Communicate in a concise, tactful, prompt and effective manner both over the phone and by email.


    • Maintain a positive working relationship with agents, customers, coworkers and others.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    2+ years of office or customer support exp.

    Basic to intermediate technical knowledge with MS Office Suite

    Experience reviewing documents

    Strong attention to detail

    Underwriter experience needed: Customer service and experience reviewing documents. Insurance industry experience would be great.

    Junior Underwriter experience needed: 1+ year of call center experience, at least 1 year of tenure in 1 of previous 2 positions.
