    Consumer Compliance Officer -Miami, FL

    FinTrust Connect is excited to announce that we have partnered with a reputable financial services company in search of an experienced Consumer Compliance Officer. The candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and executing compliance and privacy strategies that align with our client's business objectives while effectively managing risks. You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure transparent and secure operations, fostering a culture of compliance and privacy throughout the organization. Your expertise will guide our client in maintaining a robust compliance posture and adapting to regulatory changes,

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or professional certification in compliance, legal, or privacy fields (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance and privacy roles within a financial institution, with specific experience in money services businesses highly desirable.
    • Deep understanding of financial regulations, consumer protection laws, and privacy regulations (domestic and international).
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal requirements clearly and persuasively.
    • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Fully bilingual with proficiency in Excel (intermediate), Microsoft Office, and data mining.

    Description:

    • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance and privacy programs aligned with consumer protection laws and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
    • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to evaluate compliance with consumer laws and privacy regulations, identifying and mitigating potential areas of vulnerability.
    • Establish and enforce policies and procedures for customer information protection and ensure compliance across all departments.
    • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies on consumer compliance and privacy matters, managing external communication and reporting.
    • Provide ongoing compliance and privacy training for staff, ensuring awareness of responsibilities under current laws and regulations.
    • Manage and resolve consumer complaints and privacy issues promptly and in accordance with legal requirements.
    • Prepare detailed reports for senior management on compliance and privacy issues, audits, and recommendations for improvement.
    • Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes impacting compliance and privacy frameworks, updating internal policies and training programs accordingly.
