    Job DescriptionSalary:

    Summary/Objective: Promotes the company mission statement while managing Business Development activities to discover, solicit, create, and maintain business opportunities for Harper General Contractors. This role has the authority to act on behalf of the company regarding assigned responsibilities in business development and client relations.

    Essential Functions:

    • Develop, lead, and manage Business Development efforts.
    • Develop and maintain budget and track expenses.
    • Work with others to develop a strategic plan for marketing and business development efforts and implement the plan.
    • Seek out and become involved in appropriate industry and trade associations that will support business development.
    • Research and manage Client information and data. Manage and maintain Client database.
    • Prospect for new and existing Clients. Coordinate and attend networking events.
    • Participate in prequalification packages in a professional and effective manner as directed.
    • Develop, nurture, and maintain industry relationships with Architects, Engineers, Owners, Economic Developers, etc.

    • Job duties require mobility, travel, working various hours, and in a variety of settings.
    • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

    Work Environment: Typical office hours. Hours may vary depending on demand. 70% Sitting, 30% Standing or Walking.

    Physical Demands: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work. No special physical demands are required to perform the work but usually involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, driving an automobile, etc. While this work typically is not physically demanding, it can be mentally demanding, with many deadlines needing to be met consistently.

    Traveled Required: Will be required regularly for errands, meetings, job site visits, or events.

    Education and Experience:

    • Four years of related experience is preferred.
    • Master's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
