- Holidays: There are 11 paid holidays each year.
- General Leave: Leave banks are granted to employees after six months of full-time employment. General Leave may be used for vacations, personal business, illness, or other reasons as requested by the employee and approved by his/her supervisor.
- Other Paid Time Off: Jury Duty, Injury Leave, and Military leave are also available to employees.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): We provide a confidential Employee Assistance Program to help support you and your family on any issue of concern. Eight private counseling sessions are available on a range of needs including, but not limited to marital issues, parenting concerns, grief counseling, supervisor issues, and drug and alcohol abuse.
- Tuition Reimbursement: The City provides a tuition reimbursement program that reimburses qualified educational expenses.
- Eligibility for Pay Increases: Employees are eligible for a pay increase during their annual appraisal following a successful evaluation. Pay increases do not come at the time of the six-month introductory evaluation.
- Employee Home Ownership Program: To encourage employees to reside within the City limits of Commerce City, we may provide a secured loan for the down payment and/or closing cost assistance on a home in Commerce City. The employee must meet all City criteria as well as first mortgage underwriting criteria.
- Personal Computer Employee Purchase Program: To encourage the development of employee computer skills, the City offers an interest-free loan to you for the purchase of computer hardware (including a Desktop or Laptop) and software. The employee must have successfully completed their 6-month Introductory Period for eligibility.
- Recreation Center Membership: Employees and family members are eligible for a membership to the Commerce City Recreation Center for $5.00 per person per year.
- Golf Course Green Fees: Employees can play the City's award-winning Buffalo Run Golf Course at a rate of $9.00 for 9-holes or $18.00 for 18-holes. Employees can also purchase golf merchandise at discounted prices.

We are excited to announce an opening for the Community Development Deputy Director position. This vital role will help shape the future of our city by developing and improving services for our citizens. As the Community Development Deputy Director, you will provide strategic direction to align the department with the city and its goals, supervise assigned division managers, develop assigned division budgets, and approve expenditures. You will also establish procedures while aiding the Director by managing various projects within the department and city.
We are searching for someone passionate about community development and with a vision for creating positive change in our city. The ideal candidate will have solid management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of success in managing projects and budgets. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director to create, implement, and oversee the Department's operations and procedures and will assume the responsibility of the Community Development Director in their absence or when otherwise assigned.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for this position is $105,877 - $142,935 /annual.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Administration or closely related field. Master's degree preferred. Eight (8) years progressively responsible experience in development related field, including a minimum of two (2) years in a key management/supervisory role.
Possession or the ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license with a safe driving record;
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
