Position Summary:

The Client Support Specialist will provide support, case management and rehabilitation services to assist mental health consumers obtain housing and help clients achieve higher levels of function.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide support for individuals in the community to maintain housing across all levels and types (i.e. independent living, living with family, group living, etc).
  • Provide rehabilitation services to facilitate client development and independent living skills.
  • Provide case management services to clients to link them with needed services and resources in the community.
  • Assist with the development and maintain resource directory for agency.
  • Provide assistance to clients with any housing reporting mandates to ensure the service match associated with HUD programs is met.
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate housing resources and programs.
  • Assist Housing Coordinator in the development of housing resources and aid clients with needed navigation of housing resources in their community.
  • Participate in case disposition meetings on a routine basis with the assigned treatment team.
  • Provide and document services in accordance with the Rehabilitation Option/Targeted Case Management/ICMS requirements.
  • Work with Housing Coordinator to provide training and consultation to Enki staff in regards to low income housing resources.
  • Conduct client rehabilitation groups preparation services including market information, lowincome housing resources, completing forms, housing search skills, and tenants' rights.
  • Participation in DMH Housing Specialist and DHS ICMS meetings.
  • Responsible for timely completion of documentation in the client's clinical record per Enki, DMH and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for meeting assigned minimum productivity requirements.
  • Comply with all DMH and Company policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:


  • High school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years experience in case management OR
  • BA Degree from accredited college/university in a health related field; i.e. social work, psychology or sociology.
  • Experience working with mental health consumers is a plus.

Licenses/Certifications:


  • Valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and eligibility to drive for the Company.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of Special Programs such as Coordinated Entry System (LAHSA) and Intensive Case Management Services (ICMS)/Housing For Health (DHS) preferred.
  • Ability to perform in a positive, courteous, flexible and adaptive manner.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • Computer literate and experienced with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using an electronic health record is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in written.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is prefered, but not required.

Physical Requirements:


  • See well enough (with or without corrected vision) to read fine print, handwritten materials, and a computer screen.
  • Speak and hear well enough (with or without assistive device) to converse in person and by telephone.
  • Finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms, including ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Have the mobility (with or without assistive device) to stand, sit, crouch, and move from one work area to another.
  • Have the strength to lift, carry or push office equipment and supplies used in normal job functions up to 20 lbs.
  • Stamina to effectively perform work activities.

Pay Range:
$17.00-$26.00/Hour (Determined by Experience and Qualifications)
