The T-7A Flight Test team is seeking an associate or experienced aircraft instrumentation technician at Edwards AFB.
This position will provide support in an aircraft developmental test and evaluation environment while working alongside test and aircraft maintenance personnel.
Main responsibilities include installing and maintaining a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
Sensor types primarily include strain gages, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and pressure transducers. Experience with TTC data systems is desired.Other responsibilities :
Supports activities to plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
Designs systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems
Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
Facilitates systems integration, fabrication, and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down.
Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results.
Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
This position requires at least a DoD secret clearance. This position is 100% onsite. This position may require variable shifts (1st and 2nd).
Required Skill Set :

Basic hand tools and electronics (fluke meters, oscilloscope, soldering iron, etc)
Advanced degree (associates) in electronics desired.
Experience working with airborne instrumentation systems, precision measurement devices (accelerometers, strain gages, thermocouples, flow meters, etc.) required.
Education Qualification :
AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
