- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects across all areas of the organization, including manufacturing, operations, quality, and support functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify root causes of inefficiencies or defects, and develop solutions to address them.
- When opportunities are presented, utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the impact of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and coaching to employees at all levels of the organization on continuous improvement concepts and methodologies. As well as formal training during process change implementations.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices, fostering innovation, and empowering employees to take ownership of process improvements.
- Partner with management to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that support the company's goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with engineers and support teams to design cost-effective tools during implementation.
- Design, redesign, or enhance work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in continuous improvement and quality management in order to incorporate them into the organization's practices and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Willingness to be in the manufacturing floor for the first 6 months on the job, to learn all production processes through engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Five years proven experience as Continuous Improvement Engineer in lieu of degree.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.
- At least 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- CAD or AutoCad skills.
- Conversational English.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) or similar discipline
- At least one years experience in the boat manufacturing industry
- Familiar with utilizing PDCA Continuous Improvement model
- Familiarity with Rhino CAD software
