Description Summary:
Conducts discipline specific technical liaison and research through Project Managers and Technical Authorities to accomplish designs or problem solving in support of installers as required to meet task requirements.
Based on specific expertise, any may be assigned to lead a particular design job and to oversee and coordinate assigned team members.

Position Requirements Requirements:
The knowledge and experience required to perform this job is normally acquired through a combination of the following: An Associates Degree or similar post high school course work including math, physics, and geometry, and CAD system training, AND/OR an additional 5 years design experience beyond the following: 10 years experience accomplishing navy shipboard design in a focused discipline, developing finished drawings in applicable CAD system(s), and with increasing responsibility for technical content and research, AND 5 years experience with increasing design responsibility demonstrating the ability to work independently, and conduct technical liaison, and check work from other design team members in the same discipline, AND 3 years experience conducting designs with final discipline specific responsibility for individual drawings, coordination of design work with other disciplines, technical liaison with shipboard personnel, suppliers and Technical Authorities as designated.
