    Conducts discipline specific technical liaison and research through Project Managers and Technical Authorities to accomplish designs or problem solving in support of installers as required to meet task requirements.

    Converses with engineering and technical staff to resolve design details or discrepancies. Uses CAD station to prepare drawings of unusual, complex or original designs which requires a high degree of precision. Coordinates with other design disciplines, installers and QA Department to ensure optimum solutions are developed.

    Based on specific expertise, any may be assigned to lead a particular design job and to oversee and coordinate assigned team members.

    An Associates Degree or similar post high school course work including math, physics, and geometry, and CAD system training, AND/OR an additional 5 years design experience beyond the following:10 years experience accomplishing navy shipboard design in a focused discipline, developing finished drawings in applicable CAD system(s), and with increasing responsibility for technical content and research, AND
    5 years experience with increasing design responsibility demonstrating the ability to work independently, and conduct technical liaison, and check work from other design team members in the same discipline, AND

    3 years experience conducting designs with final discipline specific responsibility for individual drawings, coordination of design work with other disciplines, technical liaison with shipboard personnel, suppliers and Technical Authorities as designated.
