    Description

    The Legal Support Manager reports to the Legal Support Group Manager overseeing the Legal Support Unit's handling of restraining orders, which includes legal process such as levies and garnishments directed to Citibank, N.A.

    and other Citi entities in the U.S. ("Citi").

    The Legal Support Manager has supervisory responsibility over a team that works on restraining orders, providing leadership and direction to the team.

    The Legal Support Manager supports the team by applying in-depth knowledge, practical guidance, and value-added perspective about the handling of restraining orders, with respect to internal processes as well as external interaction with civil litigants, law enforcement, and government agencies directing legal process to Citi.

    The Legal Support Manager will work in close collaboration with the other Legal Support Managers who report to the Legal Support Group Manager, as well as with other managers with broader responsibility for the Legal Support Unit, to continually assess and develop guidance, techniques, and approaches concerning the handling of restraining orders.


    The Legal Support Manager is responsible for directing the team's daily tasks and ensuring the quality of the team's work product, including as measured by the team's timely and accurate handling of a large volume of restraining orders.

    As the team's leader, the Legal Support Manager will have shared responsibility for motivating the team and supporting the team's development, including by carrying out, as required, duties relating to performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action, and termination.


    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for legal support activities related to legal operations, technology, budget/expenses, and risk/controls.
    • Manages work streams and performs or ensures the performance of varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex in character and have tight deadlines.
    • Engages with colleagues horizontally and vertically and across multiple functions both internally and externally with outside counsel, vendors, and litigants and others directing restraining orders to Citi.
    • Works with confidential information with the appropriate care and discretion.
    • Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the firm and its clients and their assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others, creating an environment in which reports hold themselves to the highest ethical standards, and creating accountability for those who fail to maintain these standards.
    • Promotes collaboration and exhibits professionalism, confidence, and agility in challenging times.

    Qualifications:

    • 5-8 years of experience handling restraining orders or related legal process
    • Prior experience in legal operations or other relevant legal or litigation-specific environments
    • Proven record of managing operational resources
    • Strong technical skills as well as an understanding of system flows
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
    • Proactive self-starter who is highly process-oriented

    Education:

    • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience preferred
