    The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications.     Responsibilities:

    Are you passionate about being an HR advocate? We are seeking a talented Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team in making a Big Positive Difference This is an opportunity to join a growing and profitable business working with a diverse team and a potential for career growth.

    The primary purpose of this role is to drive the employee experience in collaboration with the HR and operations Team. This position is responsible for performing HR administrative duties in supporting overall business objectives within a manufacturing environment. The HR Generalist will drive the overall recruiting and onboarding process for production employees including temporary staffing, assist with employee benefits including supporting the company Time and Attendance/Payroll System and HRI Systems. Additional tasks include assisting in the planning and execution of employee events and activities. This position will support policies, procedures and HR programs, align with organizational goals, and ensure compliance with company standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    Include the following:

    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licenses, and aptitude exams and certifications.
    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Implements conducts and makes recommendations to improve new hire orientation and programs.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Leads employee engagement activities including reviewing, communicating, and implementing activities to increase engagement.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree preferred in HR, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent years of experience and education/training.
    • Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills.
    • Good attention to detail a must. Strong interpersonal skills essential.
    • Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws.
    • Possess skills in: Organization; priority setting; verbal and written communications; presentation skills; critical thinking.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter who works with integrity while also being a strong team player.
    • Office 365, MS Suite, HRIS experience, good report writing and data analysis skills.
    • Individual must be a
      • Citizen of the United States, or
      • Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
      • Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(a)(3)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • At least one year of manufacturing HR preferred.
    • SHRM-CP
    • Knowledge of human resources best practices and processes

    SCHEDULE DESCRIPTION

    The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8 hours per day. Must be willing to work overtime as needed. This is not a remote position.

    Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department within a manufacturing environment and wear, when required, personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear plugs and safety shoes. May require minimal travel locally or within the US.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • This position will work mainly in a controlled office environment, with periods of time on the production floor.
    • The noise level on the production floor can be up to 85 decibels.
    • During summer months, employee may have to work in temperatures as high as 110 degrees for prolonged periods of time.
    • When on the production floor the employee will work around and near rotating equipment and powered industrial vehicles.
    • Required to wear steel toed shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs in the manufacturing area.
    • Respirators may be required in specific areas of the plant.
