- Account Management: Serve as the senior agency contact for assigned accounts, managing relationships with clients through regular meetings and communication.
- Budgeting: Develop project budgets with approval from our CFO and other senior management, ensuring adherence to approved budgets throughout project execution.
- Client Relationships: Maintain active relationships with clients, anticipating their needs, and proactively addressing any issues that may arise.
- Strategic Planning: Prepare and update strategic plans for assigned clients, anticipating challenges and developing innovative solutions.
- Communication: Keep supervisors informed of all client activities, providing regular updates and seeking guidance when necessary.
- Business Growth: Take responsibility for growing accounts by established annual growth targets, identifying opportunities for additional services and activities.
- Media Relations: As designated, serve as the primary media contact for clients, cultivating relationships with relevant local and national media outlets and identifying opportunities for client exposure.
- Quality Control: Ensure the production of high-quality work for clients, managing resources efficiently to maximize client budgets.
- Team Management: Delegate client work to team members as appropriate, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
- Client Approval: Secure client approval on all work done on their behalf, maintaining transparency and accountability in all client interactions.
- Relationship Building: As appropriate, establish and maintain relationships with California state, regional and local opinion leaders, elected officials, and media representatives to enhance client visibility and reputation.
- New Business Development: Cultivate new business leads, contributing to the drafting of new business proposals. Actively participate in professional and community activities to promote OPR's leadership brand.
- Professional Development: Participate in career training and development opportunities, sharing best practices and contributing to the growth and development of team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Journalism, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of PR agency or corporate work experience.
- Proven experience in public relations, with a track record of successful client management and business growth.
- Strong understanding of strategic planning, media relations, and brand marketing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Multi-lingual, Spanish-speaking fluency desired.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint/Excel/Outlook essential. Desktop publishing and/or basic design skills desired.
- Competitive base salaries
- The annual base pay range (scale) for the Senior Account Executive role is $70,000 - $80,000.
