Job Description

This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.

The employment/experience section on this application must be completely filled out AND/OR a resume must be attached. Applications which do not have either the education/experience section completed OR a resume attached will not be considered.

This position is subject to a criminal history check and pre-employment drug test. Upon hire, the selected candidate must appear for in-person on-boarding at the Carson City or Fallon campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Training, experience or knowledge in the field of commercial driving customarily acquired by a course of specialized intellectual instruction, studies or experience
Must be a certified CDL examiner through the Nevada DMV and maintain this certification throughout the term of their employment
Must have a valid CDL Class A driver's license issued by the state of Nevada
Must have basic computer capabilities and know how to navigate a web browser

Duties and Responsibilities:

Test WNC CDL students on the three components of the DMV exam (pre-trip inspection, yard skills, and road driving), in alignment with all DMV requirements
Conduct tests in an equitable and ethical manner with safety as the top priority
Maintain proper documentation of all exams performed
Supervision received will be minimal; incumbent will need to exercise independent judgment in determining whether or not students have met the requirements of each portion of the exam
