    AI Start Up: Data Engineering Team Lead

    Boston, Hybrid

    $180,000-200,000

    Join an exciting AI startup based in the heart of Boston, currently operating in stealth mode. They're dedicated to revolutionizing the way businesses leverage data to drive decision-making and innovation. As they pave the path for groundbreaking AI solutions, Evolution is seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineering Team Lead to spearhead their data infrastructure and lead and build out a small team of passionate data engineers.

    Role Overview:

    As the Data Engineering Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and efficiency. You will lead a team of skilled data engineers, guiding them in implementing best practices, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation. This role offers an incredible opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge AI technology while shaping the future of our company's data strategy.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support to foster their growth and development.
    • Design and implement scalable, robust data pipelines and systems to support our AI-driven solutions, ensuring high performance and reliability.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and deliver impactful data solutions.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing data processes, and enhancing data quality and integrity.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating new tools and techniques to enhance our data infrastructure.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex data solutions.
    • Hands-on expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines using modern tools and technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, SQL, Python, Pytorch, Pyspark).
    • Experience leading and managing a team of data engineers, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Deep understanding of AWS and proficiency in deploying and managing data infrastructure in the cloud.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
