    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Position Overview The Associate Director provides strategic leadership and direction for the career counseling team, ensuring student and alumni career development initiatives contribute to a consistent career education experience for all.

    Using proactive, strengths-based supervision, facilitates quality delivery of career advising and services by reviewing data related to student engagement in career development and implementing change to improve career outcomes.

    In collaboration with campus career partners from the seven campus colleges and Graduate School, will drive ongoing progress in the coordination of campus-wide career education initiatives, with an emphasis on majors lagging institutional outcomes benchmarks.

    As part of the Career Center leadership team, will develop and execute a comprehensive career education strategy in alignment with the Career Center's strategic plan.

    Duties and Responsibilities 1.

    Manage Career Counselors and Graduate Assistants Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc.

    Hire, supervise, evaluate, and address performance improvement of Graduate Assistant Student Career Advisors.

    Manage Career Counselor team in implementation of career education/development initiatives including, but not limited to, research, development, and use of modern career advising techniques grounded in student development theories and career development theories; planning of intentional career programming; and proactive relationship building, collaboration with, and support of new and existing campus career partners.

    Drive progress and support Career Counselors in their work with focus majors to continually improve first destination outcomes, particularly in majors lagging institutional benchmark.

    Train and provide regular professional development opportunities for the career counselor team to maximize career preparation outcomes for students and alumni in all phases of career development and preparation.

    Career Center Leadership Support Center leadership and strategy by serving as part of the Career Center leadership team, taking responsibility for driving collaborative efforts between the Center and academic departments to work toward the strategic goal of providing a consistent career education experience for all Marquette students.

    Lead Center daily operations in absence of director. 3.

    Data & Assessment Initiatives of Career Center Gather, analyze, and report data on student activity and satisfaction related to Career Center; prepare data related to student engagement with the Career Center and outcomes for further analysis by director, staff discussion, and inclusion in Career Center annual report.

    Demonstrate ability to gain proficiency in use of Handshake analytics and Lightcast Analyst to support work of Career Counselors.

    Coordinate First Destination Survey data collection with the Assistant Director, Employer Relations, the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, and college representatives; remain informed of best practices for First Destination data collection including NACE standards and data collection methods.

    Analyze First Destination data by major and develop strategy with career counselors to work intentionally with focus major faculty and students to maximize First Destination outcomes.

    Manage, analyze, and report all learning outcome assessment for Career Center. 4. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested; willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

    OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, or related field GCDF or CCSP or equivalent credential demonstrating proficiency in career development or willingness to complete within first year in job role A minimum of 3 years of Career Counseling/Coaching/Advising required.

    A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience of student or professional staff.

    Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Ability to learn SharePoint; Qualtrics; Smart Classroom technology; and Handshake (online career platform) including ability to troubleshoot and/or report problems.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Certified, Strong Interest Inventory Certified 5 years of College Career Counseling/Coaching/Advising experience.

    3 years of supervisory experience.
