    Healthfirst's 2023 Summer Trailblazer Internship is a 10-week paid program beginning on June 5, 2023. This is an immersive and interactive learning experience, that lays a foundation for continued leadership development. Interns do impactful work, collaborating with other interns, employees, and business leaders to solve current business problems and deliver solutions.

    Position Summary:
    The Corporate Communications team is comprised of Internal/Employee relations, External Relations (Public Relations/social media) and Enterprise Communications which drives corporate reputation through senior leadership engagement and storytelling. The role of the communications intern is to help support and expand the capacity of the Corporate Communications organization. The communications intern will work across all disciplines learning core communications skills and functions including writing, content development, storytelling, corporate reputation management, analytics and measurement in support of the company's mission to ensure equitable healthcare for all New Yorkers.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Participate in team strategy, planning and creative meetings, gaining exposure to broader marketing department and stakeholders across the company.
    • Write content (articles, press releases, social media posts, video scripts, etc.) for internal and external channels.
    • Support video production, employee communications and measurement and analytics.
    • Craft written communications including media materials, from media/PR briefing sheet to media pitches.
    • Liaise with stakeholders across the company representing the communications department to uncover opportunities for storytelling.
    • Help monitor content metrics to gauge effectiveness and reach of communications materials.
    • Support communications efforts through research and analysis assignments.
    • Monitor media coverage and analyze stories for tone, message and brand positioning.
    • Assist in event coordination and logistics.

    Qualifications

    Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, think on the fly, be super-organized, pro-active, and eager to learn from a variety of experiences across the fields of communications and marketing.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program.
    • Will not require sponsorship for employment
    • Eligible to work in the U.S.
    • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school


    Hiring Range*:

    • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $38,200 - $49,920
    • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $33,300 - $47,840

    As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.

    In addition to your salary, Healthfirst offers employees a full range of benefits such as, medical, dental and vision coverage, incentive and recognition programs, life insurance, and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
