    Major Purpose:
    Corporate Communications is responsible for planning and implementing proactive communications for major initiatives; working to promote positive, accurate and fair media coverage of FINRA; and promoting an engaged and well-informed workforce, among other activities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Internal Communications, the Associate Director, Internal Communications will engage, inspire and motivate FINRA employees with powerful communications that connect staff to FINRA's mission, values, and culture.

    As an experienced internal communication strategist, the role is responsible for supporting enterprise-wide internal engagement and change management campaigns, internal executive speaking engagements, internal events, and more. This role requires working collaboratively with executives and colleagues alike, to deliver high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Lead high-profile and often complex communications projects aimed at an employee audience.
    • Develop, implement and measure multi-channel communication plans for major strategic initiatives and important employee engagement initiatives.
    • Build relationships and actively collaborate with business leads and colleagues to identify opportunities that support overall communication, messaging, and employee engagement.
    • Work with a high level of independence to conduct research, produce content, develop key messages, coordinate feedback and finalize communications.
    • Develop internal content strategy based on inputs from business, feedback, research, and other data analysis.
    • Proactively evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing material as well as year-over-year initiatives.
    • Stay abreast of communication trends and technology to identify and surface new communication opportunities and help ensure effective and innovative campaigns.

    Education/Experience Requirements:

    • B.S. or B.A. in Journalism, English or related field, and minimum eight years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Master's degree in business, marketing or communication preferred.
    • Proven ability to develop, implement, and measure internal communication plans.
    • Experience working with and writing for senior leaders.
    • Demonstrated superior writing, editing, interpersonal communications skills and high attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others, including running point on project and task teams with colleagues.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise careful judgment and discretion with respect to strategic and confidential material.
    • Ability to convey complex information in clear, engaging ways.
    • Experience using internal communication technology including omnichannel platforms preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/MS Office Suite applications.
    • Experience working on diversity, equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and/or Employee Resource Groups (ERG) preferred.
    • AP style familiarity and ability to work within FINRA's style guidelines.
    • A roll-up-your-sleeves, can-do attitude to do what it takes to get the job done.

    Working Conditions:

    • Highly dynamic, fast-paced environment, with multiple, high-visibility priorities.
    • Extended or non-traditional hours as needed.

    For work that is performed in CA, Washington, DC, CO, HI, New York, NY and WA, the chart below outlines the proposed salary range for the corresponding location. In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

    California: Minimum Salary $124,300, Maximum Salary $235,500

    Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $124,300, Maximum Salary $225,700

    Colorado/Hawaii: Minimum Salary $108,200, Maximum Salary $196,200
    New York, NY: Minimum Salary $129,800, Maximum Salary $235,500
    Washington State: Minimum Salary $108,200, Maximum Salary $225,700
