Summary
This position is located in the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Long Range Enforced PL, Located in Baltimore, MD.
THIS IS A BARGAINING UNIT POSITION.
Duties
The incumbent functions as an Equipment Specialist and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COR) performing work involved in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and developing specialized information about complex equipment; and providing advisory services to those who design, test, produce, procure, supply, operate, repair, or dispose of equipment and/or maintenance programs and techniques based on a practical knowledge of the equipment including its design, production, operational, and maintenance requirements.
Please use the following list of duties:
-Serving as an equipment specialist working in a combination of equipment functional areas. Perform functions such as monitoring provision requirements and time schedules and establishing criteria for future source selection. Provide expert technical advice, assistance and specialized equipment knowledge regarding the utilization, reliability, maintainability, repairability, accountability, authorization, disposition and procurement of equipment within a major area of responsibility.
-Conducting technical investigations of the equipment problems and develops and submits technical reports, with recommended corrections for deficiencies.
-Providing advisory services related to equipment design, production, operational, and/or maintenance requirements with regard to major components of new/extensively modified equipment systems or commodity classes. Conducts extensive technical evaluation of the performance, reliability, and maintainability of the commands systems equipment. Responsible for complete complex equipment systems, groups of commodity classes, and/or several equipment subsystems.
-Collecting, interpreting, and developing specialized information about assigned major components of new/extensively modified equipment systems or commodity classes. Performs technical analysis of engineering drawings, military specifications, blueprints, commercial catalogs, and other supporting documentation for the purpose of revising, collaborating on, and incorporating this information into unique specifications and technical publications or to provide information for planning purposes.
-Conducting broad studies designed to develop new methods, policies and procedures for the improvement of the overall data acquisition and management process within the activity. These studies develop new concepts of operations which will result in the modernization, automation, and increase in efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness of the data acquisition and management process.
