Description

Duties:


  • Possesses an understanding of engineering principles, concepts, engineering manuals, technical directives, and applicable test procedures.
  • Operates standard cost estimating writing software.
  • Directs and applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies of the cost estimating industry.

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of the position require the incumbent to be or become proficient in the use the organization's Micro-Computer Assisted Cost Estimating Software (MCACES)
  • Must be failure with Parametric Cost Estimating System (PACES) software, RSMeans Cost works software, On Screen Takeoff (OST)software, Remedial Action Cost Engineering Requirements (RACER) software, and PC-Cost software.

Minimum Qualifications GS-05:


  • Specialized Experience:_ One year of specialized experience which includes; 1) Learn estimating packages; 2) Assist with cost estimating software, i.e., MCACES, Adobe Acrobat. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS04)
  • OR
  • Education_: Fouryear course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
  • OR
  • Combination of Education and Experience_: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Minimum Qualifications GS-07:


  • Specialized Experience:_ One year of specialized experience which includes; 1) With significant oversight learning estimating packages; 2) With significant oversight, assist with cost estimating software, i.e., MCACES, Adobe Acrobat. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS06)
  • OR
  • Education: _One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position.
  • OR
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Minimum Qualifications GS-09:


  • Specialized Experience: _One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Independently assist with learning estimating packages; 2) Independently assist with cost estimating software, i.e., MCACES, Adobe Acrobat. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS08)
  • OR
  • Education: _Two full years of graduate level education (i.e., 36 semester hours) in a field directly related to the work of the position.
  • OR
  • Combination of Education and Experience:_ A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Grade Requirement:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.

  • Specialized Experience: _One year of specialized experiencewhich includes 1) Develop estimating packages; 2) Experience with cost estimating software, i.e., MCACES, Adobe Acrobat. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service GS09.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
