- Oversees and/or supports source selection cost panel activities for business systems' software acquisitions.
- Utilizes cost methodologies, applies software estimation tools and software applications to perform various analyses and cross-checks.
- Prepares and maintains detailed cost documentation appropriate for all cost projects and deliverables supported.
- Works collegially with integration lead, budget leads, program managers, and contractors across two geographically separate locations (MAFB Gunter-Annex, Montgomery, AL and WPAFB, OH).

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
- Incumbent may be required to work overtime or an irregular work shift.

The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Employee is expected to meet Continuous Acquisition Education requirements. APDP level varies by position and may be level 2/Practitioner or 3/Advanced.
- DoD FM Level 2 is required. This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial. Management, Section 1599d. The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.

- BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT (OPERATIONS RESEARCH SERIES): Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as senior cost/operations research lead in the AFPEO/BES/GBB Division at Maxwell AFB Gunter Annex, AL. This is a NH non-supervisory position responsible for all cost estimating and analyses services required to provide decision support to senior division leadership for the BCAT I, II, and III programs across the Business Systems portfolio.
Cost estimating/analysis duties, to include, Program Office Estimates (POE), Independent Government Estimates (IGCE), and special studies; building and delivering the annual POEs for coordination and approval to the AFLCMC/FZC cost chief, or designee, prior to the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submission.
Validates Cost and Software Data Reporting (CSDR) CDRL submissions.
