    Senior Payroll Tax Analyst at Amentum in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for the tax reporting and compliance to ensure the accurate completion of payroll tax returns by ADP and to meet the payroll tax reporting obligations of the organization.

    This position requires strong tax knowledge, accuracy, and attention to detail. Strong preference to have experience with ADP Smart Compliance and ADP tax service experience.

    This position is responsible for federal, state, and foreign tax compliance, income tax provision, indirect tax compliance and special projects.

    This is a remote-telework position. US citizenship is required. Principal Accountabilities + Prepare and file U.S.

    federal, state/local payroll tax returns/forms (including payment remittance) in compliance with regulations on weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis depending on nature of the tax.

    + Prepare foreign tax deposits in compliance with regulations. + Record payroll tax withholdings and accruals for each processed payroll + 43 pay groups across 9 tax entities. + Each pay group is recorded separately under an umbrella tax entity. + Assess each processed payroll for new or unexplained deductions/accruals. + Reconcile each quarter's Statement of Deposit Report from ADP against recorded payrolls. Perform an analysis of discrepancies and provide feedback and intended resolution to management. Work with external vendor regarding resolution, if necessary. + Review amended returns as they are processed and reconcile with adjusted payroll entries to ensure accuracy.

    + In collaboration with department leadership, perform quarterly and annual reporting for Workers Compensation, Nevada Modified Business Tax, California Environmental Fee, and Multiple Worksite Reporting for BLS.

    + Oversee identification, registration and administration of new payroll taxes for newly created work locations; manage current tax accounts, updating or closing accounts upon location closure or transfer.

    + Maintain state unemployment rates and ensure updates are completed timely. + Oversee or prepare tax deposit general ledger entries or corrections in accordance with monthly reporting schedules. + Process and remit payment for assigned general deductions in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA). + Conduct research, analyze, and provide resolution to payroll/tax related audits/inquiries from both internal and external sources. + Oversee or perform testing of tax updates and configuration changes in Workday/EV5/CostPoint. Knowledge & Skills + Advanced knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations and operations. + Self-motivated with effective time management skills that enable one to meet deadlines. + Strong working knowledge of basic accounting concepts. + Strong analytical and problem solving skills. + Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. + Intermediate Excel skills to include use of pivots and Vlookups. + Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications.

    + Capable of working under pressure of deadlines and able to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment, and must be able to prioritize multiple competing tasks.

    Experience & Education + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent knowledge gained through related work experience (2 years of relevant work experience may substitute for 1 year of college).

    + Five (5) years of payroll tax experience in a high volume, full cycle, multi-state organization. + Experience with foreign payroll tax preparation a plus. + Experience in a federal contracting environment is desired. + Workday, EV5/ADP, ADP Smart Compliance experience is preferred. + US Citizenship is required. #LI-CJ1 Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
