    Reporting to the President-Engines and dotted-line responsibility to the Vice President-Human Resources Kohler Energy, this Human Resources executive will be responsible for providing the Human Resource function with vision, direction, and leadership for the global Engines business.

    Key accountabilities will include organizational development, staffing and retention, succession planning, change management, training, employee relations, labor relations support, and compensation and benefits.

    A primary objective is to design, develop, implement, and evaluate the impact of programs, policies, and strategies necessary to properly support the current and future growth needs of businesses globally.

    The goal is to work as a business partner with division heads, key management, and other stakeholders.
    Specific Responsibilities

    Leads a diverse global HR team accountable for strategic and tactical support of the full business, including engineering, design, manufacturing operations, sales, and aftermarket.

    Develops, directs, and implements compensation and benefits components with the assistance of the Total Rewards Center of Excellence.

    Works with management to ensure the proper balance between the company's costs and the need to be internally equitable and externally competitive, especially for key positions.

    Develops methods for analyzing and balancing the Human Resource needs and costs with the scale of the business.
    Leads manpower planning. Develops linkages to ensure strategic alignment of all Human Resources systems and processes.

    Uses an integrated, broad based competency model to create recruiting templates, measures performance against standards, provides career development, coaching and succession planning.

    Develops and executes change initiatives to help further organizational objectives. Formulates strategy and support communications, training, and departmental readiness for implementing organizational plans to achieve business results. Conduct needs analysis and resource allocation studies to determine the most effective use of human capital resources.

    Facilitates ensuring the proper work climate exists where individuals can be accountable, make the right decisions, grow their career, and take pride in their individual and collective successes.

    Deploys resources necessary to attract, develop and retain the best and brightest.

    Facilitates department by department review with hiring managers to analyze organizational structure to ensure that departments are organized for maximum impact and people are aligned appropriately with their positions.

    Serves as a confidant to senior management to ensure the human asset implications are factored into significant business decisions. Provides advice and options in solving complex problems involving people. Coaches senior management when appropriate.

    Is proactively involved in situations including, but not limited to, due diligence of potential acquisitions, providing input on restructurings and ensuring the successful integration of business acquisitions.

    Ensures sound employee relations policies are developed, communicated, and implemented. Assists line management in creating a positive, receptive environment where employees feel valued and appreciated.

    Provides leadership and direction with assistance from the Kohler Labor Relations Center of Excellence in all required compliance areas – this includes: EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, etc.

    or other compliance areas applicable to the countries the business unit operates in and ensuring adequate internal controls and audits of all human resources policies and practices.

    Provides labor relations support and coordinates with relevant constituents.
    Skills/Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have 10 years of progressively more responsible human resources leadership experience or be a successful business executive who has applied sophisticated human resource management techniques within his/her organization and intuitively understands the needs of a customer centered, results-oriented human resources function.

    Global experience or leadership within a global organization is desired.
    The candidate must be able to balance multiple priorities and resolve differences diplomatically. The individual must be comfortable and effective in managing both direct and indirect relationships. The individual must be able to achieve results cross-functionally, internationally, and across the Energy Business.

    S/he will understand the essential elements in successfully managing a multi-million-dollar business and be credible as a business partner to group heads and other business leaders.

    Requires 10 years of prior HR/business experience. Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
    Previous global leadership experience required.
    Experience with union workforce(s) preferred.
    Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
    The salary range for this position is $178,800 - $232,950 .

    The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.

    In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
