    Role:

    The job holder will be a key member of our McQueens NY team, with a focus on business development and growth. Working to hit set KPI's, this employee will be entrusted to engage with new clients, hotels and venues for our events team to work with, as well as supporting the wider team to ensure operations run smoothly.

    The role calls for a combination of proactive customer development and responsive customer support – sometimes based in the office but often meeting with new customers on site or in their office. As a frontline contact for our customers, this ambassador role requires you to look and act the part at all times – retaining composure, professionalism, integrity and honesty combined with an ability to be diplomatic.

    This varied role requires an instinctive sense of customer, creativity, planning skills, problem solving, excellent judgement, teamworking, an outstanding ability to influence and inspire others, organisation, attention to detail, an ability to manage time and workload effectively, commercial acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills.

    Whilst primarily being focused on sales and business development, this role will also require you to support with the management and delivery of events when needed. This employee will have an extensive background in events management to facilitate this, with the business knowledge to be able to grow the department.

    Role Specifications

    Business Development

    Serve as primary point of contact for major stakeholders, building a relationship of trust that culminated in a service contract.
    Analyse client requirements and assessed the feasibility of a project looking at costs, complexity, and profitability.
    Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team colleagues in the Operations department to develop winning proposals.
    Grew revenue and increase customer profitability by pitching detailed proposals and installation plans to clients, negotiating as appropriate in order to secure a profitable contract that surpassed client expectations.
    Maintain high quality standards associated with a luxury brand, including superior customer service and selection of only the best products for installation.

    Project Management

    Analyze project briefs (requirements) from customers and refine them into comprehensive and workable proposals based on numerous factors, including budget, timeline, and resource availability.
    Oversee planning, delivery, and installation of floral designs based on customer specifications.
    Perform preliminary site visits to ensure feasibility of projects and refine overall creative vision before direct reports began creating displays.
    Brief other department leaders on project plans to ensure they are able to fulfil each order and guarantee customer satisfaction.

    Team Management

    Oversee daily activities of the team
    Direct the team in the day-to-day tasks of styling displays, installation and removal, and liaising with clients to fine-tune proposals, leaving her free to focus on business development and the overall creative vision and successful completion of each project.
    Train new florists to ensure they understand company work flow, desired aesthetic, and best practices.
    Solve event management problems as they arise and mobilize staff members and resources as needed.
    Coach and mentor team members to develop workforce skills and encourage personal growth.

    Key Performance Indicators

      Business profitability – underlying business profitability should be driven by the effective costing of all jobs. Quotations should be derived using set processes and systems in cohesion with the team in the United Kingdom.
      Client retention – customer responsiveness, professionalism and service quality are at the heart of the McQueens business. As a Lead Florist you are client facing and must maintain these standards at all time. When these standards are adhered to clients are retained.
      Business integration – it is imperative that as a Lead Florist in New York you work cohesively with the team in the UK to operate within the McQueens standard operating procedures. The application of SOPs to the US operations is a key performance indicator.
      Luxury – McQueens Flowers is globally renowned as one of the leading luxury florist business. This commitment to luxury is at the centre of our business philosophy. A focus on luxury service across all aspects of the business is of paramount focus and revenue growth should never be sacrificed for a dilution in our standards.
      Design creativity – McQueens Flowers brand is creatively controlled by our CEO and Creative Director in the UK. Whilst we employ some of the best florists in the world, and trust them to implement amazing designs, it is imperative that there is a process to report back on designs to ensure that the designs adhere to our wider aesthetic. It is imperative that there is continuous and iterative feedback on project designs and proposals with the Creative Director in the UK.

      Responsibilities:

      Responsible for meeting with potential and current customers as required, gaining new business though different networks.
      Reaching out to potential customers
      Understanding customers' needs to be able to see which one of our brands suit their requirements.
      Actively work towards the business development of both brands.
      Proactively understanding and anticipating customers' needs.
      Assisting with the coordination and project management of events
      Meet the KPIs set by top management.
      Pull on their own professional relationships to support the growth of the company.
      Supporting beautiful, on brand events across the organisation.
      Responsible for finding thoughtful and creative solutions to problems when they occur.
      Contribute to the achievement of high levels of customer satisfaction.
      Contribute to the growing revenues and increasing profitability of the business.
      Handling of enquiries and requests
      Company ambassador- working with customers both on and off site.
      Drive profitable sales
      Deliver the McQueens Flowers brand with integrity
      Lead a team of florists, support and administration staff
      Manage the quality of all work
      Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times
      Oversee the administration functions to effect:
      The timely purchasing of materials and specialist services required to fulfil orders
      The accurate recording of resource, stock and materials used for each order so as to correctly capture the true cost for each
      The accurate and timely reporting of shipped order values to the finance team to enable correct and speedy invoicing
      Billing and Payables
      Invoicing
      Recording expenses/sales

      Experience in managing and developing customers.
