    Position Description:
    A Compensation & Benefits Manager plays a critical role in ensuring organizational compliance while also providing exemplary employee support.

    This person will work directly with and support both the Finance and the Human Resources department and must have a demonstrated proficiency and understanding of federal, state and local payroll laws in addition to benefits knowledge.

    A complete understanding of plan offerings and in depth knowledge of primary and ancillary benefits is required.


    This person will:

    Benefits Management or Evaluation:
    Administer employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans
    Administer employee savings plans that may include the company's 401(k) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs
    Advise and inform employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions
    Research and compare incentive compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assess competitors' plans and make recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organization's plans competitive and effective
    Facilitate accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers
    Complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies
    Conduct employee surveys, census, and other research and demographic efforts required to collect accurate quotes from benefit provider
    Identify and select carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience
    Monitor administrators' and insurance carriers' reports to ensure the organization's compliance with plan requirement
    Ensure the organization's and plans' compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA
    Compensation Analysis and Modeling

    Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures
    Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration
    Partner with finance and senior leadership team to manage and evolve compensation policies and structures taking into account market equity analysis
    Manage compensation database and assist in financial modeling (supporting on-going data input needed for Edgilities model)


    Requirements:
    Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field
    Qualifications

    Five years experience in administering compensation or benefits programs
    Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements
    Customer service-related experience
    Experience in education sector

    Technology demands:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office
    Proficient in Google Suite (cloud based technology solutions)
    Experience with ADP Workforce Now
    Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional extended periods of time at computer terminals. Occasional program necessity requires working hours beyond set hours and days. Frequent telephonic and occasional personal contact. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
