    Job Description

If that sounds like you, the City of Raleigh is looking for a Senior Budget and Management Services Analyst and we want you to join our team

    Senior Budget and Management Services Analysts are given a variety of cross-organizational responsibilities that allow them to work with individuals at all levels of the organization to solve complex challenges through consensus building, while also managing a portfolio of operating, capital, and enterprise funds.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Independently identify needs and perform analyses to demonstrate policy and budgeting options.
    • Consult with assigned departments, review expense and revenue projections, and identify operational needs.
    • Manage complex, cross-departmental projects that have real world implications on the community we serve.
    • Support the City's Strategic Plan by leading and participating on cross-organizational initiative teams to advance key objectives.
    • Prepare communication and talking points to help senior leadership discuss and make decisions on policy options.
    • Assist assigned departments to craft clear, concise agenda materials for City Council.
    Typical Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration and five years of professional finance, budget analysis or accounting experience which includes experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or public sector accounting and budgeting.

    OR

    An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

    Licenses and Certifications
    • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire, and a satisfactory driving record.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • A master's degree in a related field is desirable and may be substituted for experience.

    ADA and Other Requirements:
    Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work:
    Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Working Conditions:
    Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
