Description
Adler University's Department of Psychology invites applications for several full-time, tenure-eligible faculty positions within the Clinical Psychology (PsyD) Program at the Chicago Campus, starting Fall 2024. We are seeking applications from psychologists with expertise in a variety of curriculum areas (see below). These positions may be at an Associate, Assistant, or Full Professor rank level.

Qualifications:
The candidate must have earned a doctorate (PsyD or PhD) in clinical or counseling psychology or a related discipline from an APA-accredited institution. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate a strong record of graduate-level teaching and evidence of scholarship, leadership, and other professional activities. Primary duties include teaching doctoral students, chairing dissertations, student advisement and mentoring, and serving on institutional and departmental committees. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to socially responsible practice, issues of social justice, and individual diversity.
Candidates also should be licensed as clinical psychologists or must become licensed by the end of the first year of employment. It is also expected that each faculty member engages in scholarship as well as in service activities within the institution, the community, and the profession. We are seeking the following areas of expertise:
Faculty members are expected to teach 21 credits per year (inclusive of dissertation work); develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught; and collaborate with department faculty on curriculum and program policies. In addition, faculty engage in student learning assessment activities and professional development activities. Faculty are expected to chair dissertations and be a member of dissertation committees.
Scholarship/Research:
Faculty members are expected to engage in scholarship activities, which may include submissions to peer-reviewed journals or professional and/or lay readership publications; presentations at academic and professional conferences; and development and delivery of professional workshops and training programs for professionals.Active engagement in ongoing research projects and other scholarly pursuits is encouraged. There is unique opportunity for the integration of clinical and research interests.
Service:
Faculty members are expected to serve on committees at the department and university. Faculty must also demonstrate engagement in and commitment to service to the community and profession consistent with the mission and values of the university.Diversity, socially responsible practice, and service to underserved communities and populations are core elements of our training model and faculty mentor and support students, providing strong role models reflecting these priorities.
