We are seeking a talented and experienced Public Relations Expert to join our team. As a Media Pitching Specialist, you will be responsible for securing media coverage and generating awareness for experts, nonprofit leaders, and authors in the United States. Your expertise in landing news stations, TV appearances, radio interviews, podcasts and publications will play a crucial role in our public relations efforts. In this role, you will leverage your excellent writing skills to craft compelling pitch angles and develop relationships with media professionals. The success of our PR campaigns will depend on your ability to engage with journalists and influencers while maintaining a warm, inviting demeanor and natural positive attitude. You will have the opportunity to work on a trial project, and if our collaboration is a good fit, we will explore extending our working relationship further.

Requirements:

Proven experience in public relations, specifically in media pitching, with a track record of successfully securing coverage across news stations, TV, radio, podcasts, and publications.
Exceptional writing skills and the ability to craft compelling pitch angles.
Existing network and established relationships with journalists, reporters, and influencers in the United States.
Familiarity with platforms like Muck Rack and Chat GPT to enhance media pitching efforts. (preferred)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a comprehensive record of pitching efforts.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to be warm and inviting on the phone while being succinct and concise in emails.
Persistent and proactive mindset, with the ability to follow up effectively and maintain relationships with media contacts.
Ability to follow systems and processes

Responsibilities:

Organize and update client folders
Research media contacts
Update media contact sheet
Write pitches
Email journalists
Call journalists
Send media calendar invites to clients
Write talking points
Do media training
Retrieve press links from outlets
Conduct client meetings
Create media coverage reports

The goal of this role is to utilize your expertise in media pitching to generate awareness and secure media coverage for experts, nonprofit leaders, and authors, effectively enhancing their visibility and influence.
