General Summary of Position

The VP/CNO Perioperative Service Line is an innovative leader who coordinates, supports and provides leadership to all perioperative services throughout the MedStar Health System.

This is accomplished in full collaboration with system executives, vice presidents, senior managers, physician leaders and nurse leaders.

This role has a broad scope of responsibility from system wide strategic planning to operational execution in order to achieve maximum quality outcomes, positive patient experience, workforce engagement, efficient resource utilization and compliance.

As the knowledgeable system expert in perioperative services, provides vision and direction for the achievement of high levels of efficiency, quality outcomes and viable financial performance and meets or exceeds national best practice benchmarks.

This position is responsible for facilitating MedStar Health System's plans for the delivery of quality, compassionate, culturally competent, cost-effective, and efficient perioperative care to individuals, families, groups, and communities.

The VP/CNO, Perioperative Service Line serves as a highly visible leader and strong advocate for perioperative practice throughout the MedStar Health System and promotes a positive image, enhances nursing, medical staff and community relations while achieving a fully integrated, seamless and efficient perioperative service for MedStar Health.
